Julie Andrews' clothes from 'The Sound of Music' are set to be auctioned off along with costumes worn by Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn.

Julie Andrews' costumes from 'The Sound of Music' are among 3,500 items to be auctioned off from a collection owned by Debbie Reynolds.

I'm heartbroken. I don't want to see the collection broken up. It should stay intact. It's a real shame but that's the way it's going to be.

'Singin' in the Rain' star Debbie - the daughter of actress Carrie Fisher - has amassed an incredible array of movie memorabilia over 50 years but decided to sell off her treasures after a deal to house them in a museum fell through.

She said: "I'm heartbroken. I don't want to see the collection broken up. It should stay intact. It's a real shame but that's the way it's going to be."

Marilyn Monroe's iconic white dress from 'The Seven Year Itch' , Judy Garland's blue cotton dress from 'The Wizard of Oz' and Charlie Chaplin's bowler hat from 'Tramp' will all go under the hammer at the June 18 auction in Beverly Hills along with Audrey Hepburn's Ascot dress from 'My Fair Lady'.

Barbra Streisand's sleeveless gold velvet gown from 'Hello, Dolly' - thought to be the most expensive dress ever made for a movie - is also expected to attract a great deal of interest from buyers.

The collection will go on view to the public in Beverly Hills in early June.
