Katy Perry thinks fashion needs to be "fun".

The 'I Kissed a Girl' singer - who is known for her revealing and quirky on-stage outfits - says it is important for her not to take her style too seriously now her fashion choices are constantly analysed by industry experts.

She explained to Britain's more! magazine: "I've had to pay it more attention than I did before. I used to love to treasure hunt for clothes, but now people really analyse what I am wearing so I have to give things a bit more thought. I think fashion should be fun - as soon as you start analysing it too much you've lost it."

Recently I understood the stuff people like Victoria Beckham have had to deal with for most of their adult lives. It can be frightening and overwhelming but you just have to learn to deal with it.

As well as being forced to make wardrobe changes, the 25-year-old beauty has also struggled to adapt her life around her newfound media attention.

Katy - who recently started dating British comic Russell Brand - admits she is struggling to cope with being as famous as Spice Girls star Victoria Beckham.

She explained: "Recently I understood the stuff people like Victoria Beckham have had to deal with for most of their adult lives. It can be frightening and overwhelming but you just have to learn to deal with it."
