Kelis says she dresses to suit her moods and chooses outfits to express her emotions.

The 'Milkshake' singer says she chooses outfits that reflect how she is feeling on that day as she wants to express herself.

She said: "I'm an emotional dresser. It depends on my mood. One day it could be jeans and a great T-shirt and another, a fabulous gown."

Kelis also says she likes to be a trendsetter rather than a follower when it comes to fashion.

She said: "With fashion, I do my own thing. I contribute to trends, so once they become popular, I've already been there and I'm on to something else.

"I've always loved Alexander McQueen and Chanel, but I'm pretty open about who I wear. Lately, I've been wearing a lot of new designers. It depends on my mood."

As well as being picky with the clothes she wears, Kelis also pays a lot of attention to her shoes.

She said: "I'm all about anything I can put on my feet. I love shoes and have well into the hundreds. My most recent purchase was a pair of Giuseppe Zanottis in Paris."
