Kelly Jones' mum has given him a make-over.

The Stereophonics singer has been forced to stop wearing his favourite colour of black after his mother visited his house and insisted on clearing out his wardrobe to donate some of his favourite clothes to charity.

He told Absolute Radio host Christian O'Connell: "I've ditched the black today. My mother come up to my house last week for the first time in a few months and just ripped all the clothes out my wardrobe, stuck them in bin liners then took them to Oxfam.

He explained: Being the youngest of three boys, I was always given hand-me-downs

"She takes them to my two older brothers first, hands stuff out to the family then gives what's left to the homeless. There's a lot of oversized leather jackets out there."

While Kelly now passes his clothes on to his older siblings, he previously admitted he spent his youth clad in their old garments.

He explained: "Being the youngest of three boys, I was always given hand-me-downs. But I didn't mind when it came to football kits, because I ended up with my older brother's Seventies Leeds kit."
