Lindsay Lohan's debut design collection has been branded "a disaster" by the label's founder.

The 'Mean Girls' actress, 23, advised on a collection in September for fashion house Ungaro, but Emanuel Ungaro - who sold the label in 2005 - has lashed out at Lindsay, saying he is "furious" about the star's involvement.

He said: "I'm furious but there isn't a thing I can do. I have absolutely no link with that house.

a dream come true, was slammed as underwhelming and non-skilled

"Ungaro is in the process of losing its soul. That happens to a lot of designers. We were the creators and patrons, responsible for the creation and destiny of our houses. But when we gave up our houses, we gave up our souls."

Lindsay worked on designs with the fashion house's new head designer Estrella Archs for three weeks, and instead of being paid she was given free clothes.

She was even rumoured to have paid for her flight and hotel herself when she attended Ungaro's Paris Fashion Week show in September.

However, the line, which Lindsay described as "a dream come true", was slammed as "underwhelming" and "non-skilled" by fashion journalists.
