Natalie Portman is obsessed with picking her cuticles.

The 'Brothers' actress is trying desperately to kick her bad habit and has resorted to carrying skin-smoothing products around with her to help calm the urge to attack her fingernails.

She told USA Today: "I've been getting better, but not really. I try to put moisturiser in my bag at all times so when I have the impulse, I put moisturiser on."

While Natalie fails to take good care of her hands, she recently admitted she is concerned about losing her looks after seeing so many aging actresses struggle.

The 28-year-old star said: "You see people who were stars five years ago and already they're waning. As actresses approach 40, it starts becoming really, really difficult."

However, the 'Closer' actress doesn't think she would surgically alter her appearance to look younger.

When asked if she'd have cosmetic surgery in future, she said: "I would hope not."
