Nicole Richie wants her new clothing line to make women feel as if they're naked.

The socialite says her new fashion range Winter Kate - named after her two-year-old daughter Harlow's middle monikers - was inspired by what she feels comfortable in, which is mainly light-feeling outfits.

Nicole - who has her own jewellery line, House of Harlow 1960 - said: "I 100 per cent designed everything. Colours, cuts, fabrics. I would never put my name on something I wouldn't wear myself. That's why it's taken me this long to have my line come out. I do respect designers that go in it for the long haul and don't do things that are trendy.

I've always been one to dress for comfort. I'm not one to wear something that I don't feel good in. Comfort was really important for me, especially doing a spring line. For me, I really don't like to feel like I'm wearing anything.

While Nicole's new lines will only be available in a few specially selected high-end stores - including Bloomingdales - she is adamant her designs aren't overpriced.

She told the USA Today newspaper: "Everything is extremely affordable, and that was important to me, to have these pieces be accessible to everyone."

Garments from the Winter Kate range from $68 for a tank top, to $1,372 for a suede vest, while footwear from her House of Harlow shoe collection range from $158 to $275.
