The prestigious Council of Fashion Designers of America has announced this year’s nominees.
The CDFA awards are the fashion industry equivalent to the Oscars and takes place on June 4th at the New York public library. Oscar de la Renta, Marc Jacobs and Lazaro Hernandez are up for the Womenswear Designer of the year Award.
Designer Ralph Lauren will be honoured for his forty years in the industry with the first ever American Fashion Legend Award.
Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren and Steven Cox are some of the nominees up for the Menswear Designer of the Year Award. Pierre Cardin will receive The International Award.
The board also announced that U2 frontman Bono will receive a special award but have not released any further details on his award.
