Sarah Jessica Parker and Anna Wintour are to give advice to US president Barack Obama.
The 'Sex and the City' star and the US Vogue editor have joined a committee - which has First Lady Michelle Obama as honorary chairman - in order to raise awareness of the arts in the country.
Michelle Obama said: "The arts are not just a nice thing to have or to do if there is free time or if one can afford it."
Parker - who is currently filming the sequel to the hit 'Sex and the City' movie - and media guru Wintour join a group of Hollywood and fashion figures who have been tasked with bringing attention to education, cultural diplomacy and economical development through the arts.
The arts are not just a nice thing to have or to do if there is free time or if one can afford it.
Other members of the committee - originally formed in 1982 during Ronald Reagan's presidency - include a cellist, a theatre and film producer and a ballet dancer.
