Shoe Advice

There are plenty of shoes available to choose from. You would like to choose the most comfortable shoes.

The demand for shoes has a direct relationship with the increase in population. A bad shoe can spoil an image whereas a good shoe enhances your smart look.

Before deciding on the shoe to buy, it is important to check out some important parameters. These parameters differ for person to person, as there are different shoes for women, for athletes, for children etc.

Generally, shoes with heavy rubber soles that curve near the toe area should be avoided as they can cause accidental falls. Also prefer flat shoes with a heel height of one inch or less, even if you want heels go for the one with a heel height of two inches or less. Also, look for shock-absorbing and skid-resistant soles, such as rubber rather than smooth leather. Apart from these common parameters, there are certain parameters that vary from groups to groups:

Children's shoes

The type of shoes that a child wears moulds his future posture and thus, should be selected with a critical eye. While shoes are not necessary for infants as a bare foot allows normal growth in terms of bones, muscles and strength; the child would need shoes when he starts walking and going out. Some tips to be borne in mind are:

-For children measure both the feet, and if there are two different sizes then buy the shoe that fits the larger foot.

-Shoe should have a firm heel counter, and it should be flexible enough to bend where the foot bends.

-Make the child walk around in the store wearing the shoe to see if he/she is comfortable with it or not.

-Shoes should not be so big that they slip off at the heels

.

-The child should be able to comfortably wiggle his or her toes in the shoe. There should be about one-half inch of space between the ends of the shoe of the tips of the toes.

Men's shoes

Men's shoes should have a low heel and a sufficient toe space. It should conform to the shape of the feet. Softer soles are more comfortable though Soles made of hard materials can be worn. slip-ons, dressy loafers, and low dress boots are most suitable. It is good to have three to five pairs of shoes.

Women's shoes

Trouble for the feet of woman comes from improper shoes. High-heeled shoes cause the trouble. Body's weight is distributed unevenly due to high heeled and pointed shoes. This can lead to painful bunions, hammertoes, discomfort and other deformities. Try to choose attractive and comfortable walking pumps for work and social activities keeping in mind fashion considerations and comfort. Generally the most suitable shoe for women is a walking shoe with laces with a relatively wider heel and not more than three-quarters of an inch in height.

The shoes specification can also depend on the use to which they are put to. Various sports such as aerobics, baseball, and winter sports have different requirement for shoes to avoid accidents during the games. If you are choosing shoes for walking, then look for lightweight shoes with upper materials made of leather or nylon mesh. The front or forefoot area should have adequate support and flexibility. When choosing walking shoes check that the heel is straight up, mid-sole is well connected to the upper, check for irregular bumps, check the shoe width etc. Then there are shoes for work, corrective shoes for people with diabetes, jogging/running shoes etc.
