Blink 182

Blink 182

Blink 182 were THE band of Leeds festival 2010 for me; the San Diego three-piece  drew an enormous crowd to the main field for their headline slot, and quite rightly so, the buzz about them had been clear for the past two days and their comeback was one no one wanted to miss.

Somehow their hiatus has served to make them bigger than they ever were when originally together, but their act remained safely the Blink 182 I grew to love in my teenage years; good, honest pop punk mixed with juvenile antics and humour.

With an opening burst of a handful of their best songs, Feeling This, Rock Show, What's My Age Again and I Miss You before the trio played some of their lesser known track towards the middle, Down, Stay Together For The Kids and Carousel. Travis Barker impressed us all with a drum solo, proving that he's still one of the best drummers on the circuit whilst tom De Longe pranced around like a small boy, still looking as handsome as I remember him though!

Closing down their hour-long set begin with All The Small Things which the boys thanks novelty act Jedward for 'allowing them to cover' which Travis did not sound all to happy about, in fact, Travis didn’t really seem to do much in the way of interacting, leaving it to Tom and Mark to entertain the masses whilst he looked cool at the back.

Whilst I nipped off before the boys left the stage for good, I have to admit that there wasn't a single person in the crowd who wasn't in awe at what they had just witnessed… the boys opened by yelling; "we're back!" and by the end of it I'm sure thousands of people shared in hoping that this time it's for good.
