The 18-year-old joined her mother and sister Alexa Ray Joel in this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.

Christie Brinkley’s 18-year-old daughter Sailor Brinkley Cook is following in her mother’s footsteps and preparing to taking the modelling world by storm.

Earlier this month the teen posed for Sports Illustrated’s annual Swimsuit Issue alongside her mother, who is now 63, and her 31-year-old sister Alexa Ray Joel.

With her blonde hair and blue eyes, Sailor is a dead ringer for her famous mother and has already appeared in the pages of Teen Vogue and Town and Country magazine.

At the launch party for the Swimsuit Issue held in New York last week, the teen walked the red carpet alongside her mother and sister, stealing the show in a black gown with a cut out neckline and a feather trim.

But having a famous supermodel for a mother, hasn't always been easy for Sailor. The teen, who her mother once described as a ‘late bloomer’, has been open in the past about her struggles with her weight and body image issues.

Writing on Instagram days before the release of the Swimsuit Issue, Sailor shared: “I've had issues with my body image since before I can even remember. I grew up not loving how I looked and felt held back because of it.

“My body and I have been through it all. But recently I have been liberated. I am healthy, I treat myself well, and for that i'm happy…I now have grown to know that my body is worthy of so many great things. I don't need to be a size 0 to believe in myself.”

For Sailor, posing in Sports Illustrated was something she never thought she could do, and making it in the pages alongside her mother was especially surreal.

“I grew up looking at these photos of my mom, never thinking that I would ever be able to do that,” Sailor told People. “It was just such a surreal moment for me because I’ve looked up to all the SI models and my mom — they’ve always been my inspirations.”
