Emma Stone made another style statement on the red carpet during the BAFTAs, by wearing a Chanel dress with matching trousers underneath.
The La La Land star, who picked up the award for Best Actress at the ceremony, has been slaying the red carpet so far this awards season with her quirky choices, but her pick of what fashionistas call ‘the drouser’ may be her best look yet.
The outfit was taken from Chanel’s recent 2017 Spring/Summer Couture collection, with the actress making one simple adjustment from the runway look, by removing the chunky silver belt that was worn on the catwalk.
The bejewelled sliver and black gown is embellished with floral detailing and features a plunging neckline and four slim straps at the back. The trousers underneath grazed the ankle, allowing Stone to show off a pearl anklet on her left leg and her pointed metallic heels.
Stone kept her makeup light, opting for a strong nude lip and a dash of black eyeliner, while wearing her long her straight and half tied back behind her ears. The actress kept her jewellery minimal, choosing a simple pair of diamond earrings.
At last month’s Golden Globes, Stone chose an altogether different look, wearing an equally beautiful pink Valentino gown, which was decorated with stars. The gown also featured a plunging neckline and metallic detailing, but it was a lighter colour pallet than we’re used to seeing on the actress.
Later that month she wore a revealing black and sheer Alexander McQueen gown to the Screen Actors Guild Awards. The asymmetrical dress featured a black lace layer underneath, which was revealed on one side, and a frilled, floral patterned black skirt.
With Emma proving that we never know what she has in store for us on the red carpet, we can’t wait to see what will she’ll chose for the Academy Awards later this month, where she’s expected to take home the Best Actress Oscar.
