Unless you've been hiding out underground or on the moon, you'll have noticed theres something unusual about this summer.

It could be the fact, that unlike the last few years, we've spent most of it hiding under umbrellas and Yes, that has been unusual, but what i'm talking about is the popularity of Knitwear.

Wool is usually a matterial confined to christmas presents from Gran, but this year, we're seeing a change in that. Cardigans are on the catwalks and in the shops - Ponchos are the big thing!

Wether Knitted or crocheted, from Selfridges or the local Market, Ponchos really are the thing to be seen in this summer. It looks like you can't go wrong either, with styles from the closely knitted heavily fringed efforts to the loosely crocheted grunge look affairs, they're all the rage and they're everywhere

Even though, in the middle of July, we have gotten some half decent weather, there are still women who won't be parted from their boots and knitted shawls. These are not Pashminas or linen being passed off as ponchos, its the real knitted deal or you will be considered to be comitting a fashion crime of the highest degree

The good news is that the Poncho craze looks set to continue for quite a while, so if you like the look, consider investing in a good one.
