Watch your Language
Russell Simmons and his Hip-Hop Action Summit Network are looking for music industry execs and labels to watch the content of Hip-Hop lyrics after the recent Don Imus scandal.

Putting into effect the Coalition on Broadcast Standards, the HSAN hopes to eradicate the usage of misogynistic words such as 'B**ch, ni**a and h*e'.

The Coalition will be made up of various top execs from all forms of media. Russell Simmons and Chairman of the HSAN Dr. Benjamin Chavis said in their joint statement: "Hip-Hop is a worldwide cultural phenomena that transcends race and doesn't engage in racial slurs. Don Imus' racially-motivated diatribe toward the Rutger's women's basketball team was in no way connected to Hip-Hop culture. As Chairman and President of the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network (HSAN), respectively, we are concerned by the false comparisons some in the media are making between Don Imus and Hip-Hop. We want to clarify what we feel very strongly is an obvious difference between the two."

The three aforementioned words are to be regarded as extreme obscenities and labels are expected to encourage the removal of such words from their artists music.
