Lesley Garrett, the nation’s favourite soprano, has returned to the recording studio after a three year break to record a new album. ‘When I Fall In Love’ is Lesley's first album since signing to Universal Classics & Jazz, and is both a collection of classic love songs and a personal labour of love, with every song having a deep personal connection to Lesley. ‘When I Fall In Love’ is Lesley’s 13th album in a diverse 27-year career. Originally from Doncaster, Lesley has forged a hugely successful career, taking her to the leading opera houses worldwide. Recent months have marked a new chapter in Lesley’s life with a venture into the world of musical theatre for the first time with the role of Mother Abbess in the highly acclaimed Sound of Music. The Andrew Lloyd Webber production also stars musical novice Connie Fisher, and Lesley’s run until April 2007 is fully sold out. With this new chapter, Lesley began to look retrospectively at her own life and, with a new recording contract from UCJ in her hands, she decided to record a personal collection of love songs. Each song has a particular significance to Lesley’s life, giving the record an intimacy that will reach the listeners one by one. 1.When I Fall In Love
