‘Perfect Housewife’ Anthea Turner Teams Up With Perfect Cleaning Brand, Cif For Essential Pre-Christmas cleaning tips.
With 4 weeks and counting until Christmas, it’s time to start getting ready for the barrage of guests and contend with a years worth of mess. This year the perfect cleaning brand, Cif and TV’s Perfect Housewife, Anthea Turner have joined forces to offer some expert advice, allowing you to enjoy the Christmas season in peace and sparkling clean harmony.
Anthea Says; “Our homes are on display more than ever over the Christmas period, what with family and guests visiting so it’s worth spending a little time every day to keep them looking their best. By following my three simple rules which apply throughout the year as well as my special Christmas cleaning tips you will you will ensure a tidy and stress-free home, not only at this festive season, but the whole year round.
1) De-clutter
o If it’s not beautiful, useful or seriously sentimental – get rid of it! Invite a friend round who can be ruthless and rid you of the things you don’t need
o Recycle old magazines – use a lever arch file to store recipes and magazine articles you want to keep. Tear them out and recycle the rest
o Get rid of the piles of papers and junk sitting on your dining table to enable you to actually use it for meals with the family
2) Clean
o Don’t let the little jobs build up such as cleaning under the bed, tackling the build up on the shower curtain, and the grime that accumulates on the grouting between the titles - old toothbrushes are perfect for scrubbing at those stubborn marks between tiles.
o Have Cif Oxy Wipes to hand for last minute clean ups. From the telephone to the bathroom sink, a quick swipe will do the trick
o Wipe dirty marks off the painted walls and skirting boards by gently wiping with a damp cloth and a little Cif Original Cream
3) Organise
o Organise yourself by putting systems in place that will help things run more efficiently so you can keep your home looking sparkling clean
o Have filing trays for post coming in and shred all confidential statements that are not needed but taking up space
o Invest in clear storage boxes so items can be filed away but easily located
Anthea’s Christmas Cleaning Crack-down tips:
· Ensure your oven is prepared to deal with the Christmas turkey and all the trimmings Cif Fume Free Oven Cleaner is great as it and doesn’t have the pongs associated with other oven cleaners so there’s no nasty chemical smells lingering when guests are due to arrive. Tackle stubborn marks on the grill, try spraying it with some Cif Power Cream Kitchen and giving it a good scrub – it’ll come up sparkling clean in no time
· I always use a wet cloth first to apply product, then buff up afterwards with a dry cloth for maximum shine, and to avoid residues
· Stainless Steel can often look dull with watermarks and sticky fingerprints. Create a Christmas sparkle on your hob by using Cif Stainless Steel Gel which will clean away the sticky finger marks whilst still being gentle on the surface
· Try to do a little cleaning every day up towards Christmas to ensure that it doesn’t turn into a mammoth task that you have to tackle the night before.
