Amber Valetta's family don't like the clothes she wears.

The US model, actress and fashion designer has revealed she is often scrutinised and teased by her loved-ones - husband Christian McCaw and their young son Auden - for her choice in outfits and has even been told she looks like a "pirate".

She said: "My family questions some of my fashion choices.

"I have this white Dries Von Noten blouse that my husband calls my pirate shirt. Sometimes he doesn't get it."

Ultimately you don't want to go anywhere and feel out of place. Clothes should enhance your experience.

Amber rose to fame in the 90s when she appeared on a number of magazine front covers and modelled for Louis Vuitton, Calvin Klein and Versace.

However, the 35-year-old beauty has become less adventurous with her clothes since she became a mother.

These days, Amber will even shun showbiz parties if she doesn't have the right outfit to wear.

She told Britain's InStyle magazine: "A lot of times I decline invitations because I just can't be bothered. When I go out, I have fun but I choose wisely.

"Ultimately you don't want to go anywhere and feel out of place. Clothes should enhance your experience."
