Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have designed a jewellery line.

The couple have created a gold and silver collection for upmarket jeweller Asprey, with all profits donated to the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, a charity co-founded by the 'Changeling' actress that aims to help children that are the victims of war and natural disasters.

The capsule collection, entitled The Protector, also includes baby gifts such as egg cups and silver spoons, and is inspired by snakes.

Yet the education for these children is often forgotten

Angelina reportedly considers the reptile as a symbol of protection and a talisman after being given a serpent ring when she was pregnant with daughter Shiloh, now three.

The collection is to go on sale later this week, with prices starting from $525 for a spoon.

The couple have declined to comment on the venture, but speaking about the charity, Angelina said: "These are the children who most need a safe place to learn, a place to heal, a place to learn reconciliation, a place to build a better future and a place — to just be children. Yet the education for these children is often forgotten. Tens of millions of children and adolescents in conflict are not in school."
