Louis Vuitton Wins Britney Spears Lawsuit

Louis Vuitton have won a lawsuit against Britney Spears for the use of one one of their designs in one of her videos.

The French fashion house has won a $117,000 cash settlement and the rights to have a Britney Spears ‘Do Somethin’ video banned from future use after it was agreed it infringed copyright by featuring the label's trademark print.

The video uses a pink version of the famous Louis Vuitton Print in the interior of the car in which Britney rides.

The tribunal found the director of the video had clearly emphasized the Louis Vuitton brand, the report said.

The report also ruled that responsibility for the unauthorized use of the Louis Vuitton brand lay with Sony BMG and partners as well as MTV Online rather than with Britney herself.
