Designer Diane Von Furstenberg is being sued after a bank of lights fell on a fashion editor during New York Fashion Week.
Furstenberg was showcasing her latest collection for spring summer 2006 when the disaster happened. Karen Hanes Larrain of Cosmopolitan magazine was knocked unconscious, required 30 stitches for her cuts and is now suing for unspecified damages for her pain and suffering.
She is also seeking to recoup her medical bills, although a spokesperson for Furstenberg said she had offered to pay but had not heard anything from Hanes Larrain.
She said:" We offered to take care of the bills for everyone who went to the doctor or hospital (Larrain) did not get back to us because the suit was underway."
Hilary Alexander of the Daily Telegraph was also sitting in the front row and escaped injury when the lights fell.
