Diane von Furstenberg is suing a US retailer under copyright lawyers.
The legendary designer is demanding financial compensation and the withdrawal of the copycat designs from Forever 21.
Furstenberg, who created the iconic wrap dress, is unhappy with some of the designs in the companys spring/summer 2006 collection.
She claims that they are too similar to her own DVF's Cerisier and Aubrey dresses.
Legal papers obtained by WWD state: Without authorisation or license from DVF, Forever 21 has produced and is marketing, advertising, distributing, offering for sale and selling dresses
Which are nearly identical to DVF's Cerisier and Aubrey dresses that bear print designs identical to the DVF copyrights.
