Fashion Show Without Models To Take Place in US

03-11-2007 04:01

US fashion chain Target are shaking up fashion traditions by holding a virtual Model-less runway show.

The discount retailers are planning to transform Grand Central Terminal's Vanderbilt Hall, in Minneapolis to make way for their hologram models created by tate-of-the-art technology.

The new technology will allow Target's latest designs to strut down a virtual catwalk without the help of models.

The show will feature men's, women's, bridal and maternity collections from Bowie by Keanan Duffty for Target, Erin Fetherston for Target, Isaac Mizrahi for Target, Liz Lange for Target and Mossimo for Target as well as accessories and shoes from Dominique Cohen for Target and HOLLYWOULD for Target.

Minneapolis-based Target has 1,591 stores in 47 states across the US, and has achieved success by delivering the best retail trends at affordable prices.

Powered by hologram innovator Musion Systems Limited, the presentation will use an illusionary technique that uses Eyeliner(TM) foil to give two dimensional images the illusion of depth. The installations are recorded, played back and projected in High Definition giving the holograms quality and clarity.

The Target Model-less Fashion Show will take place on Tuesday, November 6, and Wednesday, November 7.
