Giambattista Valli is the latest designer to cause a stir with his understated but modern designs.

The 38 year old Paris based designer started out on his own after working as creative director for Emanuel Ungaro.

Since then, he has built up quite a celebrity following for his flattering but feminine designs.

Bridget Cosgrave of exclusive boutique Matches told Grazia: "He does pared- down, dramatic glamour and it really appeals to the same women who loved the Galaxy dress."

The Galaxy dress was a huge hit for French born designer Roland Mouret last season.

Celebrity fans of Valli's dresses include Sarah Jessica Parker, Naomi Campbell, Drew Barrymore, Victoria Beckham and Demi Moore.
