Karl Lagerfeld's 'graphic' range

Karl Lagerfeld's debut range for Karl is a "graphic idea" of clothes he likes for himself on women.
Karl Lagerfeld's debut collection for new label Karl is "very graphic".
The eccentric designer - who also works for Chanel and Fendi - admits he is excited to release the range because it reflects his personality, unlike the other labels he has previously worked.
He said: "It's a graphic idea of what I like, what could be translated from me to girls. It's very graphic; black and white, silver and grey. Chanel is me doing Chanel, Fendi is me doing Italy and this is me doing me, whatever that means."
Karl is best known for his work in the high-end luxury market, but admits he wants to do something for those on a mid-range budget.
He added to US Vogue: "The people I've been in business with before, they always want to be in competition with Chanel or Fendi - I wasn't interested.
"Why would I want to do the same thing? I liked to do H&M, because it was a different point and this is another one. The middle class does not have enough class that I think the middle class should have."
