Karl Lagerfeld was once considered a potential kidnap target by the German red Army(RAF).
Revelations about the plot in 1970s came to light recently. A former member of the RAF Peter- Juergen Boock revealed the details in an interview with Der Spiegel magazine.
He said:" We considered kidnapping the owner of the lingerie maker Palmers factory and also Karl Lagerfeld."
The revelations by Boock, who spent 17 years of his life in prison, has sparked a re- examination into a murder of a federal prosecutor that took place in 1977.
The RAF is suspected of killing 34 people including many high-profile figures in Germany. He said the designer became a target because he came from a wealthy family but the claims have angered many Germans.
The reasons why the plot never materialised were not revealed.
