Karl Lagerfeld

Karl Lagerfeld

Fresh from returning to Paris from Vermont, where he's just shot Chanel's autumn/winter campaign, Karl Lagerfeld has apparently got in touch with his rural side.

The fashion legend revealed to WWD at the opening of the 'Court Pomp & Royal Ceremony' exhibition at Versailles: "It was very cold, the sky was blue and the light was stunning. And the people are so nice."

We imagine the company can't of been too bad either, as he had models Heidi Mount and Freja Beha Erichsen to keep him company, after all.

Despite that, it appeared Lagerfeld was much more distracted with one of the stunning backdrops for the shoot- a big wooden barn. He raved, "I’ve never seen such a beautiful barn in my life."

Meanwhile, commenting on the gorgeous display of embroideries on display at Versailles, from royal wardrobes around the world, he noted to WWD that they were all realized in France. "And it was not like shipping today. There was no DHL," he concluded.
