Liverpool Fashion Week took over this past week, and on day five of the event Masato showcased their brand-new Spring/Summer 13 collection.
The designer chose to showcase the clothing at Liverpool instead of London Fashion Week. Where we can assume it would have gotten lost amongst the many, many showcases.
Japanese and oriental were obviously an inspiration for the collection, which was made up of grey, reds and floral patterns.
The geometric prints were paired with soft pussy-bow blouses creating a harsh and soft contrast of the clothing.
The whole thing was very ladylike and the tea dresses only further enhanced this theme.
The Japanese inspiration came through in the wrap detailing and the shapes of the clothing – giving a nod to origami shapes.
A slight nod to Liverpool came through in the John Lennon sunglasses the models wore, and obviously the Beatles soundtrack which played as the models stormed the catwalk.
A beautiful collection that will fit seamlessly into your wardrobe and the new season.
