With the pound at an all-time low and the euro at an all-time high, people are flocking to London for some serious shopping bargains.
With savings of around 20% over Paris and Milan, London has become the top place for savvy fashionistas to get their fashion fix.
In the survey conducted by Selfridges, research completed by the ESCP-EAP European School of Management, in Paris and Milan showed that contrary to what people believed, prices were in fact lower in London.
They compared eighty womenswear and menswear items including shoes, handbags, separates, coats that were price-checked in Milan and Paris then compared with identical items sold in the store.
On average the items were around 10-20% cheaper than those in Paris and Italy. This included the must-have bag of the season, D&G's Lily bag, which was priced at £863 abroad, compared to £695 here.
Paul Kelly, Chief Executive of Selfridges says: "This is a very good time for customers from the euro zone to take advantage of the exchange rate and buy the best fashion at lower prices."
