Retailer Axes Top Models?

The famous faces behind Marks & Spencer could soon become a thing of the past, if the economic gloom continues.
Erin O'Connor, Twiggy, Lizzie Jagger, Myleene Klass, Noemie Lenoir and more recently, Lily Cole have fronted fashion campaigns for the store since 2005, but as the retailer hits harder times, could expensive advertising campaigns be the first thing to go?
According to the Mail On Sunday, Jagger has already "opted out" of future campaigns, however a representative for Myleene Klass insisted that: "the contract still has time to go."
M&S have already admitted last year that it would cut its £140million advertising budget by 20 per cent, but there was no mention of whether that would include axing its five famous faces.
"The adverts have served the company well in times of excess, but the board realises those days have gone," a source revealed the newspaper.
"You'll see a different tone to the marketing this year. They still want campaigns to be glamorous, but they simply can't afford to match what has gone before."
