Naomi Campbell to star in’ Ugly Betty’

Naomi Campbell is to star in cult US fashion show Ugly Betty.

The supermodel revealed that she is to play a loon who loves to shop. Campbell will make her debut on the show later this year.

Contact music reported that Campbell said:” "I'll play a loony who loves to shop and can't find a man. I like that sort of role.”

Ugly Betty has proved a hit on both sides of the Channel. The series depicts frumpy secretary Betty (A Ferrera), working at the ultra chic fashion magazine Mode.

The show won two Golden Globes earlier this week for: Best Television Series and Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series for lead actress Ferrera.

Campbell, who has undergone anger management classes for her temper, pleaded guilty this week to assaulting her housekeeper.
