New York Fashion Week is getting even smaller, as more designers have opted out of showing next month.
Following Betsey Johnson, Carmen Marc Valvo and Vera Wang's decision to pull out, now Monique Lhuillier and Naeem Khan have followed suit.
They will instead stage a less expensive presentation, although their representative Paul Wilmot has insisted that their departure isn't because of economic reasons, according to PerezHilton.com.
Wilmot said, "We just wanted to do something different, shake things up a little bit, it'll sell the clothes differently."
Their presentation will apparently allow retailers, buyers and press to see the clothing and the designers up close, and hopefully create more of a stir.
