Cashmere experts Brora have teamed up with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) to launch an exclusive winter scarf in time for Christmas.
With 20% from each purchase going towards the RNLI’s SOS day, the charity’s biggest fundraising day this beautiful soft scarf is the perfect Christmas present.
Available in navy and light blue and exclusively online these beautiful 100% cashmere scarves, priced at £55 each, will be a welcome present to find in any stocking, with the added gift of supporting the RNLI too.
SOS day is on 25 January 2008 and in addition to purchasing one of the limited edition scarves, you can also take part in the day itself.
The RNLI provides 24-hour lifesaving service at sea, around the coast, on the beach and inland saving on average, 22 people a day. However with no UK government funding it relies entirely on donations to keep going.
SOS day encourages people to raise money in any way they can, whether it is organising a karaoke marathon session or a nautical theme face painting day for the kids, and by doing so, donating a minimum of £1.00 each to the RNLI (€2 in the Republic of Ireland).
Anne Maton, Fundraising Manager at the RNLI says: “RNLI SOS day is our national fundraising day; it is a fun day with a serious purpose and it is critical to get everyone’s support no matter how young or old. At sea, around the coast, on the beach or 50 miles inland, the RNLI provides a vital service for everyone. We rely absolutely on donations and fundraising to provide our 24-hour lifesaving service.
"Buying one of our limited edition scarves is just one way of showing your support for the RNLI with 20% of each purchase going directly to the SOS day fund. So why not treat a family member or friend to one this Christmas, and help the RNLI continue saving lives.”
To purchase these one-off scarves, priced £55 each or for a free SOS day pack full of fundraising ideas, log on to www.rnli.org.uk/sos or call 0845 121 4999 (if calling from the Republic of Ireland, please call 1800 789 589 or log on to www.rnli.ie/sos).
You can also show your support for the bravery of the RNLI’s volunteer crew members and lifeguards by making a donation online to the charity too.
