Stella McCartney hates babies wearing dresses.

The fashion designer - who has just created a children's range for GapKids - doesn't like to see infants put in gowns that are too old for them as she thinks it "looks wrong".

The mother-of-three said: "Oh, they look so silly, little babies in dresses. It looks wrong."

Talking about her own range, Stella claims it's something she's been wanting to do for a long time and says it caters for all occasions.

She said: "For years now I've wanted to create a collection for kids.

"I think this collection has a mix of the playful and practical. It's a reflection of my brand, there are pieces that are classic and very sort of timeless and hopefully very chic, and then there are pieces that are the kind you chuck in the washing machine and they get better with time and, you know, they are funny and hopefully a little bit cool."

The collection ranges in size from newborn to age 12.
