Life is imitating art for Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen, as just like her on screen alter ego Jennie Humphries, Taylor is to turn fashion designer New York magazine reports.

She will design tour outfits for her band Pretty Reckless for when they go on tour this May.

She told the magazine: "I'm actually designing all of my costumes. It’s a rock band, so there’s not costume changes but there’s definitely a look."

She added that she will make the clothes with designer Jen Kao but won't be turning her back on acting for the world of fashion just yet. She said: "I only really design for myself. It’s really fun."
