Alice Temperley has always had a loyal following in London and this was never more prominent than yesterday, when she returned to the Capital after six seasons in New York.
Was it worth the wait? Absolutely! Temperley London produced a stunning and accomplished collection, outlining her vision for SS09.
Her theme of romantic odyssey was prominent throughout the collection with beautifully crafted dresses, billowing Grecian inspired gowns and girly floral prints appearing all over her collection.
We predict it will be the season of the bow come early spring, if Temperley's forecast is correct. Her stunning bow dresses and tops in salmon pink, had to be one the the highlights of the show. The silky texture of the fabric combined with the minimal accessories and stunning shoes, made this part of her collection unfaultable.
Temperley also showed her skill by contrasting her chiffon billowing dresses with black star studded leather belts, giving a nod to this season's dark romance, and the upcoming pure romance trend.
As we also saw in New York, hair embellishments were big news and at Temperley's show this was also the case, be it art deco multicolored crowns, or her cute silk covered cloche hats. They definitely gave her models the edge on the catwalk, and had a very masculine vibe, teamed with feminine tailoring about them.
We've also got to give the nod to her gorgeous tuxedo style tailoring, which reinvented the tux for today's modern female. Again it also incorporated her masculine vs feminine vibe that was seen through some of her collection.
And good news if you bought gladiator sandals this year, because if Temperley is showing them again for SS09, then you know you're on to a winner. In fact if you want to go one ahead of the fashion pack, wear them with tights now, for a casual, comfy look.
Our top look however has to be her jewel coloured dresses combined with leopard print, bound to be a mega hit for the summer! you heard it here first.
