Thom Browne is expanding his menswear design expertise into the world of womenwear with a new capsule collection.

The innovative designer has created a range of 25 ready to wear pieces to be launched this autumn.

The line will include a women's version of his signature short jackets and tailored trousers cut off above the ankle.

It will also include coats, oxford shirts and cardigans.

Suits and coats are priced around $4,000, sweaters $1,500, and shirts $400, which is in line with the men's wear.

Despite being famous for changing the silhouette of menswear Thom has always created one off custom pieces for private women clients.

"I love seeing girls in my stuff," he said to WWD. "It's very different from men's, but I am looking at it very similarly. I am having a good time with it."
