The 25-year-old model has admitted she "loves" taking part in projects that will "fulfill" her, and she still wakes up in the morning "pinching" herself because she cannot believe her work on the runway, on the big screen and with her online platform Gurls Talk are "real" and have had a positive response.

Speaking to Vogue.co.uk about her career, the catwalk icon said: "I just love doing things to fulfill us. With Gurls Talk, with modelling, maybe with acing, it baffles me. I am still waking up and pinching myself because this is real."

And the star is pleased Gurls Talk has inspired other women, as she "never would have dreamed in a million years" it would have the reception it has received.

She explained: "It is literally everything I ever needed when I was at school. I'm past school, and past all of that and I got out of those dark holes, but I have created something I have always wanted./ but I never would have dreamed in a million years that would have young girls coming up to me at Glastonbury, in the streets of LA, New York, London, and telling me how much Gurls Talk means to them, or how much seeing my picture in a magazine as a woman of colour. It's really cool."

And Adwoa - who has modelled for prestigious brands including Calvin Klein, DKNY, and Alexander Wang - feels "100 per cent" empowered and fabulous in the fashion business.

Asked how she feels about being a successful female in 2017, she said: "100 per cent empowering and fabulous. You have this knowing and understanding that we are all in it together."
