The 16-year-old model-and-TV presenter and the animal rights group teamed up with London-based vegan shoe label Bourgeois Boheme for the campaign that was offering aspiring designers the chance to be the creative force behind a new animal-free unisex sneaker and help shape the future of cruelty-free footwear.

The winner was revealed as Laura Hickman from Wales and her design will go on sale in autumn/winter 2016.

Yvonne Taylor - PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals)

Senior Manager of Corporate Projects - said: "Tomorrow's designers are increasingly using their talents to be a creative force for good by shunning cruel and environmentally damaging animal-derived materials, and Laura Hickman is a shining example with her impressive vegan sneaker design

"As more compassionate shoppers learn of the horror that lies behind every piece of leather, the demand for vegan accessories will only continue to grow."

Speaking previously about her involvement with the project, Anais - the daughter of ex-Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher - said: "I love fashion and I love animals - so this competition is a win-win. I'm happy to join PETA in celebrating new designers who are leading the way in cruelty-free fashion and cannot wait to strut around town in the winning pair of shoes!"
