"The Buddah" cat fur handbag

An American animal groomer has started making a fashion handbag collection out of unwanted cat fur.

Danelle German has found an interesting use for the surplus hair, using cat, dog and even monkey fur to make her 'fashion' handbags, according to The Daily Mail.

Depending on the size of the animal, German can make anything from a clutch to a shoulder bag, and now she has apparently been inundated with customers desperate to have a memento of their pet.

Prices range from £30 to £200 and are currently being sold online from her website, CattyShackCreations.

German came up with the idea after seeing just how much hair was thrown away at the end of her grooming session, "Every day at the salon, we end up with tons of cat hair that is either combed out or shaved off the cats during the grooming process."

"Usually it goes in the trash but one day I got this hair-brained idea to try to spin the hair into yarn.I figured that if Angora bunny hair to could made into a beautiful yarn then surely I could do the same with cat hair," reports The Daily Mail.

Having never attempted to do anything like this before, Danielle focused on turning her cat hair into a yarn and then finally weaving it into a fashionable bag.

She has apparently received mixed reactions about her handbags, with some hailing it as ingenious, while others labelling as 'gross'.
