Craig David has revealed that he loves to sniff shoes in a bizarre confession.
“I love the smell when you open a fresh pair of trainers," he admitted.
"That box fresh smell is incredible…I put them in a special cupboard in my dressing room, I’m excessive but never too excessive, there’s four or five [pairs] of the same trainer – maybe that is excessive”.
The singer is a big fan of trainers and it seems his footwear fetish goes back to his childhood: “One thing I take pride in are clean fresh trainers, it stems back to a kid not being able to afford top of the range trainers," he added.
"When I first got my Nike Huarach, which was a big kind of trainer at the time, I had £70 saved up and I couldn’t wait to go to my local trainer store and buy these trainers and then I didn’t wear them for a year which was a bit weird."
"I just didn’t want to soil these £70 shoes…Its kinda still maintained in a slightly different extreme, I just keep buying loads of trainers, just loads of the same ones, I don’t have the extreme I did as a kid, I was scrubbing them and trying to keep them immaculate all the time, now I wear the trainers and feel there are more just waiting to tuck in to."
