Christopher Kane was awarded to Designer of the Year prize at this year's Scottish Fashion Awards over the weekend.

The Central Saint Martin's graduate joined model Emily McWilliam who was presented with Scottish Model of the Year and London label House of Holland who walked away with Best International Use of Tartan.

The star studded event was held at Stirling Castle where a red tartan carpet greeted guests including model Lisa Butcher, GMTV fashion expert Louise Roe and fashion icon Daphne Guinness.

The real star on the night was veteran harstylist Sam McNight who was welcomed into the Scottish Fashion Awards Hall of Fame by video messages from Uma Thurman and Agyness Deyn.

The night also featured catwalk shows by Scottish Designer of the Year nominees Christopher Kane, Jonathan Saunders, Aimee McWilliams and Scottish Young Designer of the Year nominees Jamie Bruski Tetsill and Lousie Gray.

Tessa Hartmann, founder of the event, told the Herald: "The Scottish Fashion Awards can lay claim to having a hand in this new fashion revolution for all things Scottish, by providing this platform. There is a wealth of creativity and design in the award nominees and winners, and we are delighted to honour and celebrate their achievements with this prestigious occasion."
