Louis Vuitton will open its first pop-up shop.

The French fashion house has revealed plans to set up the temporary retail space at London's Dover Street Market to coincide with Fashion Week in September.

The shop will display a select number of pieces from designer Nicolas Ghesquiere's debut autumn/winter 2014 collection in addition to items from the runway show, including shoes, jewellery and sunglasses.

Plans to create further pop-up shops in New York and Tokyo are said to be underway, reports Vogue.co.uk.

The luxury brand also recently announced plans to open a museum in October.

The doors of the state-of-the-art museum, Foundation Louis Vuitton, will open on October 26 in the outskirts of Paris, France.

The new landmark, it's hoped, will be a cultural hot-zone much like the Louvre and other tourist attractions.

The museum will exhibit the corporate art collection owned by LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, as well as specially commissioned art attractions. The building also has an auditorium which could potentially serve as a performance space for concerts and live shows.

LVMH boss Bernard Arnault described the art collection to be displayed as a "pretty eclectic mix".
