Matthew Williamson's fashion must-haves are "sunglasses and new shoes".

The 44-year-old fashion designer - who is famed for his bohemian prints and shimmering fabrics - has admitted there are two accessories he simply won't leave the house without, and has revealed his essential wardrobe items are a chic pair of sunglasses and new footwear.

When asked about is fashion must-haves in quick fire questions set by website HomestoLove.com, the creative mastermind - who founded his eponymous designer label in 1997 - said: "Sunglasses and new shoes."

Although the star has revealed he also counts his vintage 1970s Gucci watch as his favourite arm candy.

Speaking about his other favourite items, he said: "A 1970s Gucci watch.

"[Fragrance] Incense by Comme des Garcons."

The designer also admitted his biggest influence for his masterpieces comes from Frida Kahlo, although he has revealed he can't remember a time when he wasn't interested in designing.

Speaking about what inspired him to delve into the fashion industry and his inspiration, he said: "Frida Kahlo.

"[But] I've loved both fashion and interior design equally for as long as I can remember."

Meanwhile, Matthew has revealed the shops he most frequently visits include Liberty, The Conran Shop, and Mr Porter, and admits that the things he'd most like to buy next include a sofa for his house in Spain, as well as "a new work bag, some new coffee table books" and plants for his garden.

Asked what he does in his spare time, he said: "Walking my dog, Mr Plum, on Hampstead Heath.

"Coffee in the morning and tea in the afternoon. Sunday brunches at home and weekday dinners at Lemonia, my local Greek restaurant in Primrose Hill."

Although Matthew has an eye for travelling long distance when he next has some free time out of his busy schedule.

He explained: "Bali is my favourite holiday destination, and I go to my home in Deia, Spain, for longer breaks.

"[I'm] looking forward to seeing Australia as I've never been before."
