Primark is going State side

Primark have struck a deal to take over unwanted retail space in American shopping malls from retailer Sears.

The owners, Associated British Foods, have gained the leases to seven stores in the USA, with one being in New York.

The purse-friendly fashion mecca will open stores in Philadelphia and NYC as well as Boston, with hopes their US takeover will be as successful as those in Spain, France and Germany.

The first store is scheduled to open in Boston at the end of next year.

'After extensive research, it has been decided to take the [Primark] concept to consumers in the USA,' Associated British Foods said in April, when it acquired its first store in Boston.

And the Stateside takeover won't end there, as Primark is hoping to expand with a further 10 stores in the next two years.

Darren Shirley, an analyst at Shore Capital, told the Guardian: "We believe the announcement could herald the start of a process whereby Primark underpins its new space requirements across the USA through further arrangements with Sears, providing both access to a raft of prime sites across the country and good visibility on new space development with stores opened in clusters."

Americans look forward to fast fashion trends hitting your wardrobes at bargain prices, you're going to love it.
