Roland Mouret has teamed up with The North Circular for a special collaboration.

The French-born fashion designer has collaborated with the ethical knitwear brand - which was co-founded by his close friend Katherine Poulton and model Lily Cole - to recreate a limited edition knitted version of his best-selling Eugine top, reports Vogue.co.uk.

According to Katherine, the team-up was born after Roland, 53, watched the former model's brand go from strength over the last five years.

She said: "I met Roland when I was first modelling in London, we have both come a long way since then. He was a young designer and I walked in his first shows. We have worked together ever since.

"Roland is really supportive of emerging talent and he has seen The North Circular go from strength to strength. He suggested to me that we create a knit version of his best-selling Eugine top."

The garment will be launched this month and combines Roland's signature silhouette with The North Circular's iconic zigzag cable knit.

Katherine is undoubtedly pleased with the results and credits Roland's "clear vision" for the success of the collaboration.

She said: "Working with Roland is great as he always has a clear vision of how he wants the piece to be, especially when he drapes directly on to the body. The forms he makes are always so unexpected and brilliant, enhancing your figure in the most chic way."
