The 25-year-old model always regularly exercises but massively stepped up her fitness programme in the lead up to last year's lingerie extravaganza in New York City in November because she knew she had to look her absolutely best alongside the other models, such as Kendall Jenner, Alessandra Ambrosio and Lily Aldridge, that strutted up the catwalk with her.

Speaking to Vogue Australia magazine about her fitness regime, the brunette beauty said: "I work out consistently throughout the year but leading up to the show I was going to the gym a lot more, and maybe like a week or two weeks before, I would go twice a day. It's extreme but I feel really good about myself when all the hard work pays off.

"It's definitely an honour to be part of the Victoria's Secret show."

Despite the pressure to look great in the show, Shanina has revealed there is little competition among the Angels and the other models who take part because they have all been chosen to appear because they are at the top of their profession.

The Australian star explained: "It can be quite stressful for all the girls, but hard work pays off in the end, and what I love about the Victoria's Secret show is that it's a time for the girls to show their personalities and have fun, which is just quite different from other catwalk shows.

"I think all the girls workout so hard that it doesn't really bother us that much, and obviously we have a great styling team that chooses lingerie that fits our body."

Aside from her ambition to become a Victoria's Secret Angel, Shanina also has her sights set on landing a cosmetics spokesmodel contract.

She said: "I definitely have a lot of goals the next five years or so ... working with Maybelline or L'Oreal, a makeup contract would be amazing. I think also manifesting the things you want is really important too, and it brings positive energy into that thing and brings it back to you. It's a beautiful thing to dream and work hard and then see what happens."
