Julia Roberts is the new face of Gianfranco Ferre.
The Oscar winning actress will star in an advertising campaign for the Italian designer.
Celebrity photographer Mario Testino will photograph the actress in Los Angeles for spring summer 2006.
People magazine reported that the adverts will launch worldwide apart from the United States in February.
Ferre told Fashion Wire Daily: "My source of inspiration is modern - day reality women who live in today’s world. Yet there are some who better than others match my own purely personal ideal of femininity. Julia Roberts in my eyes reflects a total affinity with this ideal of mine."
The 38 year old actress has been on a career break since she gave birth to her twins one year old Hazel Patricia and Phinnaeus Walter Moder.
