Julien Macdonald has gone down in record books this week as one of his dresses for the Star by Julien MacDonald collection has become Debenhams fastest ever selling garment the Daily Mail reports.

All of the 1000 stock of the £60 leopard print dress has been pre-ordered with a waiting list growing quickly.

Debenhams's director of design, Karen Peacock, said: "We knew our dress was  going to be popular - but even we've been shocked by the demand.

"We strongly suspect that many will be using our £60 dress to impress their haute couture fashion conscious friends.

Michael Sharp, Debenhams' deputy chief executive added: "It's a fantastic  dress, but to be honest we've never seen a reaction like this before."

The Best Selling Dress

The dress scores a fashion hat-trick ticking three major trends for this season. Animal prints were seen on the catwalks at Matthew Williamson, Christopher Kane and Roberto Cavalli. Pretty much every designer used at least one one-shoulder design in their collection and the structured detail is going to be a big trend this season too.
