Trend Alert: A/W Star Quality...

The star print has already made an impression in 2011, but we're not ready to let it go just quite yet.

Here we have some great transseasonal pieces that will be great for the cooler weather but all the while reminding you of the summer past and the warmer months to come. Stars make for a brilliant statement look this season, adding glam and excitement to what can be quite a dull season for colours in the wardrobe.

The only rule with the star print is to make sure that you don't overdo the jewellery or accessories. Let your stars shine bright and don't overshadow them with the bling.

From Sea NY for Liberty London £340

You couldn't possibly find more transseasonal if you tried. This pretty, dainty print shirt dress and black belt is a great all-year piece. Adapt this for winter with some black tights and plenty of light layering. Team with a cardigan and a cape coat. We also love how versatile this piece is for footwear; wear flats with broagues or loafers or flat or heeled, ankle or knee high boots. For the quality and the wearability potential, this staple is well worth the money.

From AX Paris £30

You can never see too many stars at night, so why not treat yourself to this strapless dress for your next night out. This outfit will make such an impact on the dancefloor, all you'll need is some killer heels and a silver/clashing colour clutch and you're good to go. Remember to be sparing with the jewellery to keep all the focus on the dress.

From Sea, NY for Liberty London £315

We are noticing two different types of star patterns on pieces. The large, Hollywood-esque, D&G print as seen on this cardigan from Sea, NY and the smaller cluster of stars on the above pieces. Depending on how much of a statement you're wanting to make, take you pick between the two to make some fresh new looks for you a/w style.

From AX Paris £25

Team with a simple pussybow blouse and bright, statement platform courts or boots for a retro feel. These trousers offer a brilliant alternative to a dress/skirt for an evening outfit - go for a high ponytail or top bun and a sweep or red lips to finish the look.

From Miss Selfridges £16

The star print doesn't have to take over your whole wardrobe. Little piece like this scarf are great to keep the exciting pattern in your everyday look, without having to change your style completely if you're one for keeping your fashion the same.

From Shu Uemura for Liberty London £15.50

If you have a special night out or occassion coming up why not go all out with these gorgeous starry eyed eye lashes. Keep the rest of your make up natural and make a statement with your eyes and with the help of these beauties your eyes will be sparkling all night!

From French Connection £47

Blouses are a brilliant staple for the a/w months. They can be worn with trousers, midi skirts, pencil skirts, shorts and tights and for so many different occasions. This Peter Pan collared blouse is could prove to be such a versatile top this season. Be creative in the knowledge that the star print ticks the trend box already.
